Dude in the subway starts totally freaking out, thrashing around on the floor of the train, tormented to madness by the voices in his head. Yes, I know, you see that shit three times a week in the AM commute, but not, perhaps, in black and white. When the poor bastard finally makes it home, those self-same voices compel him to puke his guts up, and then beat the shit out of himself with cast iron stove grates.

And then some REALLY crazy shit happens.

This 13 minute short was shot in 2000, in New York City. It’s since gone on to antagonize and freak out film-fest goers nationwide ever since. Stark, threadbare, ultra-violent, and with no real redemptive qualities, “The Voice Inside” is the most nihilistic short out of NYC since the glory days of the Cinema of Trangression. I tell ya, even I didn’t see the over the top ending coming until it hit me square in the face, and I was already expecting trouble. Savage.
