Brimstone Media are a tight cabal of like minded monster movie makers that specialize in anthologies based on various horror and sci-fi icons- they have vampire and alien collections as well- but here, they take on that manliest of beasts, the werewolf. Not an easy task, of course, as werewolves are the hardest of all monsters to actually pull off effectively (well, ok, the 'Beast with a Million Eyes' couldn't have been all that easy either), even with a budget to spare, which Brimstone does not- so they've wisely kept the wolf sightings relegated to money shots at the end of each of each segment, relying instead on the tightly wound morality plays of the scripts, and a vast palette of lupine varieties. There's a monster for every mood in these tapes.

There are African werewolves who take on goofy mobsters, lonely sex freak werewolves led to their bloody fate by hot goth chicks in tight red dresses, frumpy virgin girlwolves who take out their repressed sexual and homicidal urges on drunken rednecks in plaid shirts who hang out at cemeteries, harassing the locals, lesbian werewolves with floppy ears that shoot up anti-wolf juice to keep from eating their girlfriends, middle-aged survivalist werewolves in camouflage who spear-fish in their off killing times, and even time travelling mad scientist werewolves.

All these shorts are shot video verite style, like insane documentaries straight from the public access vaults in Transylvania, or Lycanthropia, or someplace else where shape shifting monsters are a daily occurrence. Some of it is set to a pounding symphonic power metal soundtrack (Ok, that bit I could've done without), some of it to minimal keyboard spookiness, and all of them leaning towards the tragic aspect of the man into wolf mythos. For moon madness aficionados, this is the motherlode of werewolf footage.

With any luck, Brimstone will start their "Serial killing lesbian cheerleader" series soon.
