Porn (men of)

“When you surround yourself with good music, good things come out of it,” Tim Moss apprehends from his several years of touring the Northern Hemisphere. When he’s not touring with his own road hogs in Porn, (The Men Of) he’s managing bands, such as Melvins and Fantomas to surround himself with good friends. “Hey, pay me to travel? I think I can handle it. I have many tales of debauchery from touring, as well as memories. We stayed at Bjork's house the last time we was in Iceland. The sun never sets there, so it’s as if you’re walking in a Led Zeppelin album cover.”

Good friends, music, wine and women, even if they do look like aliens, it all boils down to Porn’s current album, “Wine, Women, And Song.” One leads to another, but when it comes to his own swamp hounds of a darker glory, he has music mapped out to a geographical science, lay as much tread waste to the states behind and before him. I’ve seen them on several sedated occasions, tweaked-out leads that bleed on into the next century; mad scientists mixing three of the devil’s plaything in a lab experiment. I haven’t told him this yet, but they’re going to be in one of my Smut Trucker comic book issues. The one where Smutstrutter takes Hell Bent For Weather to the Mossman’s workshop. He then rigs oil slick propellers to the exhaust pipes, so with just with a push of her nitro injected petal, she can lay some damaging resin on roadways to any who may be in pursuit of stopping her. A Mad Max mechanic of metal is how Tim Moss will be coincidentally represented.

“You know they quit marketing that trucker speed called, “Truckers Luv It,” he heartily forewarns me. “It’s now illegal to buy it.”

This is precisely what I visualize happening with upcoming Porn albums due to the censorship of our bible belt country. I highly doubt, though, this is the Last Supper on Small Stone Records.

I initially set off to interview him for a twisted lesbian murder that we both remembered. Three Indiana girls who left a twelve year girl by the name of Shanda Renee Sharer to burn alive and raped by a tire tool. His relations to the murder, his previous band, Ritual Device played in Louisville, KY where Melinda Loveless, the ring leader, was at beforehand.

“Yeah, if I remember correctly some of the other bands were actually interviewed because of it, but listen, I know lots of obsessed lesbian girls, but they don’t go killing somebody after a concert.”

Melinda Loveless real motives was due to an ex-girlfriend of hers that Shanda had innocently befriended. Jealously drove the girls to Madison, IN with Shanda in the trunk beaten, tied and tortured. Her perfectly tasseled red curls now strung straight and caked with blood in them, was drained of any strength to even scream for her own mother. I read the book, Cruel Sacrifice when I was in Junior High School in the early nineties for I was the same age as Shanda when this happened. Years later I even attempted with my own girlfriends to reenact the movie with a camcorder in another place Shanda was taken to, The Witches Castle. The remaining foundation left to stand in Utica, IN could be held most accountable for triggering any sort of torture. It’s one of the most haunted places in the state and forbids trespassers. The presence alone is plagued with restless sprits of women who were condemned as being evil.

Tim Moss has long since surpassed his days in touring with Ritual Device, yet the putrid sent of evil often precedes him. Now teamed with Dale Crover from Melvins, and the Mountain Of Judgement Record Producer, Billy Anderson, Porn, as well, has risen from, unsavory burial grounds. When Crover is vacant from his works with Altamont and Billy detached from recording upcoming bands in Frisco, such as, OM, the three get together and weave intangible records. You can catch them this Spring in Austin along with Moss’s girlfriend, Clementime, the drummer for Bottom who has recently relocated from New York out to San Francisco.

“They’re doing well out here. The audiences love them. We’ll meet each other in Texas, but we do try not to tour with each other. When touring, it’s time to focus on the road and band, and not your significant other.”
