Look, we can waste a lot of time talking about second chances and the
vagaries of record labels and distribution (which sank this record the
first time it was released in 2001) and hideous twists of fate (like
September 11, 2001 which coincided with the Dragons’ tour to promote
this disc), but that’s just wasting breath, and who’s got that to spare?
The facts are this: the remastered 2004 version of
Rock n Roll Kamikaze sounds like the roar of blood in a drunk Yazuka hitman’s ears pinned
down by 9mm bullets ripping into the walls of a neon-streaked Osaka bar.
It’s desperate, it’s balls-out, and it’s full of a bravado that just
might kill the band if they’re not careful—but who’s careful in rock and
roll? Not these guys. Arigato, gentlemen. Oh, the Gearhead disc
tacks on five unreleased tracks from the original ’01 sessions. The Dragons website _____________________________________________________ |
