BLACK FURIES
Meanwhile, Back in the States...
Take Root Records

________________________________________________________

Tough, swaggering spit n’ roll from Frisco that bears an uncanny resemblance to NYC power-rock champs Joker Five Speed, only on like, Dexatrim, and with an urgent deadline that ended two hours ago. The whole fuckin’ record is over in only twenty minutes, so it is with much economy and precision that the Furies slash and burn through sleazy, hook-heavy motor-rockers like “Hard Luck” and “Stateside”. Except, of course, for the cleverly named instrumental “Interference”, which can only be described as ‘ballroom ska’, and which sits in between the bloody knuckles of “No Money Down” and the arena-rawking, Motochristin’, chant-along “Tighten Up” like a weird wrong turn. Don’t worry though, they’re just fucking with you, because when it comes to rocking, the Black Furies mean it, maaan. Imagine the Four Horsemen with hot rods, and you’ve got ‘em. _______________________________________________________
