Al Jourgensen might be a little late with the anti-Right vitriol here, seeing as W and his doom buggy patrol have already scorched the Earth to a cinder, but ya still gotta give a nod to the last angry band, right? There was a time and a place, after all, when corrupt political regimes could be brought down by social protests, if they were loud enough. Just not anymore. This then, is the death-rattle, the final hysterical, pain-choked scream of the last generation of free-thinkers, as they succumb to the bootheel of the great American war machine.

Either that, or it’s the sound of the cavalry charging over the hill. Still too early to tell.

But anyway, you know what end of the political spectrum El Jourg’s coming from – and if you read around, you’ll find there’s actually young, conservative rock writers (!) now who strongly disagree with him on that end. But even those fuckers won’t argue that this ‘un tears rock n’ roll a new angry, ragged hole. “Rantology” is a best of-slash-remix album, with live tracks and a new song, “The Great Satan”, all preparing you, dear listener, for a punishing new album next year. In the meantime, you get W’s soundbites replacing his dad’s in “N.W.O. Update Mix”, a crazy, ultra-paranoid new versh of “Stigmata”, steamrolling live takes of “Thieves” and “Psalm 69”, and, surprisingly, no “Burning Inside” redux, even though it sure the fuck sounds like Jourgensen is gonna self-immolate any second. “Rantology” is rife with searing industrial thrash littered with soundbites and howls from hell, same as it ever was, just smarter and louder and with more fire in the belly then ever. I hope it helps. It sure as fuck SOUNDS like revolution.
