The Forgotten Four
Danger City Dead Men

The Forgotten Four (who, for the sake of brevity, we will refer to as FF, just like the Fantastic Four, from now on) are young, loud, and lippy punk n’ roll juggernauts from Chicago. And unlike the Four Horsemen, they really ARE a quartet. Their music is a sugar-sweetened, smash n’ trash, all-night pogo-party that mixes up the hook-y, hard-luck, street-fighter punk of Social Distortion and the glammy good-time rock n’ roll of, fuck, you name it – Sloppy Seconds, Guns N’ Roses, and whoever you’d find rattling and rolling in between those two. And while the FF sound is unmistakably their own (I don’t think I’ve ever heard house shaking, bass-chugging slopabilly and raunchy, Dolls-y glampunk swagger played in the SAME SONG before- these fuckers got alchemy on their side, baby), the boyz have no problem tossing in shamelessly enthusiastic RN’R references into their songs at every corner. The anthemic “Love My Rock N’ Roll” is like a 3 minute shout-out to every band that ever rocked FF, from Black Flag to the Cramps, “Forbidden Town” is their hard-driving ode to Sloppy Seconds, and if you dive a little deeper into the record, you’ll hear Stones riffs, a roughed-up nod to “Detroit Rock City”, and even a little “Kickstart My Heart”. Which, after all, is the kinda stuff you’d EXPECT to hear at a rock n’ roll party, right? FF are the real deal, man. If you dig fuck-on-the-floor, teenage riot structure punk n’ roll action, these are the motherfuckers for you. And if you DON’T like that kinda stuff, well, these are the guys that’ll be passed out on yr lawn next weekend anyway, so you oughta learn to like it, pal.
