A Stench So Relentless
Taking Bad Breath to New Heights
Death Breath’s debut album is causing quite a stink on the death metal front
right now. Nicke Andersson, former Entombed and current The Hellacopters, is
back with a vengeance of vocals and has brought a few friends along. Magnus
Hedquist has aborted ship already, but Robert Pehrsson’s vocals, as well, are
in for the long hard drive. These Swedish devil advocates in disguise are
antagonizing down to every notch in my spine. Choke-holding guitar riffs,
with vulcher-winded lyrics rolls one’s eyes in the back their head. “Coffin
Of The Unembalmed Dead” triggers the cannibalistic tendencies; I’ve always
known I’ve had. “Chopping Spree” sounds as if it was sung with flesh still
stuck in their rotted teeth. Acts of heinous crimes along with the, much
anticipated Armageddon, invoke these men to croon in strain. Fowl mouths with
more electric feedback pull to play tug-a-war with the all fucking mighty
Christ. __________________________________________________ |
