THE YO YO’S
|
|
'If your neighbours don't love you that's their problem...'
'Round The World' harks back most to the Yo's first rekkid, guitars sharp enuff to cut thru congealed sulphate, shape it into lines for the Beach Boys to snort off Ace Frehley's first solo album and speed right back to whoevers baby they bloody well choose thankyar sir, like '1000 Miles From Me', a jetset jitterbug jaunt, 'AA Holiday' is a rampant Red Stripe-wrecked ska-barB, not burnt but definitely smoked, and like The Makers sang is 'as hungry as Elvis, baby, in 1975'. 'The RockNRoll Commandments' takes its cue from Mr
Johnny Thunders
generally atrocious, abusive misogynistic rant '10 Commandments of Love'
and pleasingly, comically yet oh so truthfully lays it out as it is, using
JT's 'I'm your man...' tag. I found myself nodding wryly along...the best
being 'Thou shalt not murder - unless somebody should overstep the mark
and land upon your BLUE SUEDE SHOES'. No commandment should come as any
real surprise. Buy this and find out if you too, Rock. Right on fuckers! |
