HI-FI KILLERS/LOS DRAGOS
Split
Nicotine

This is a split single, but I also have a convenient CD version here; dunno if you have to buy the wax versh in real life. Wax is better for you anyway. So, A-side’s got a cuppla from the Hi-fi Killers. Not to be confused with the raggedy garage band from Seattle, these HFK’s are from France, and they play bloozy punk that’s heavy on both hooks and charm. They remind me of the Animals, with a dash of now-fi Swedish scuzz. As a bonus, the singer cat’s Franco-accent is pretty minimal, so you can actually understand all the mouthy come-ons.

On the flip, two from the Los Dragos, who I think are from Spain. And as you know, Spain rocks like crazy. Expect 4 or so solid minutes of dense fuzz and manic 60’s frug-punk. Good shit.

This one was over before I knew it, but it was sweaty and exciting while it lasted. Kinda like teenage sex, really. Only fuzzier. ________________________________________________________
