DEAN DIRG
26 Kicks to Make the World Pay
Dead Beat

The enterprising, tasteful folks over at Dead Beat have seen footloose and fancily fit to unleash this torrent of under two minute uber-wonders on us and fucking good on 'em. This set combines their two full length albums of 2002 and 2004 and it seems that if you put these German guys in a padded cell and they'd strip the cushioning right off with one whirlwind guitar strum and bounce off the breeze blocks like human pneumatic drills. In the over populated rat infested sewage system we call garage rawk, this shines like a lighthouse sending away the fog of faint-hearted wannabe rawk stars using 'punk' as a platform... sardine tin splicing guitars, with the choppy stop / start guitar clatter of The Hives being the only similarity to the current wave of garage trash trends...that bands best of 'Die Allright' is condensed into sub-minute songs like cramming King Kong into a soft-drink carton. Elsewhere it's almost like a freebased version of Turbonegro riding The Slobs 'Kill Kill Cool' Junk single classic on songs like 'Try My Ass' and 'Fuck Yeah', even a sadistically sodomized, lobotomized Status Quo on 'Do It Right'.

Songs this short do tend to come across as a brain rattling barrage but they also sound like the adrenalin buzz of an old time gang fight in dustbin strewn alleyways, and were seemingly recorded while the band took part in a similar fight! And if you don't dig a bit of raucous brain ramming rackets then you're reading the wrong website! Pretty fucking wondrous, 26 songs in 26 minutes ya'll.
