Berserk
black/death/crawl-in-a-hole-and-die fuck metal from the charred church
remains and enchanted forests of darkest Norway. Mord is a two-man gang
consisting of one “Nordra” on bestial yelping and axes of all varieties,
and Necrolucas (“Luke”, to his buddies) on drums. Back in 1999, Mord used
to just be Nordra, until Nordra, I’m guessing, got lonely a year or two
later, and sought out a many tentacled drummer to flesh out his morbid
tales. And thusly, the cannons of destruction were sounded. The boldly
titled “Christendon Perished” (You fellas are gonna have to burn a whole
lotta fuckin’ churches in Iowa and Kansas before that shit happens) is
their first full-length (there’s a demo and an OOP single floating around,
for the cultists among us), and it’s one long, relentless hammerblow to
the skull. Imagine raw, necro-black metal mixed with the splattery thrash
guitars of Witchery and the jarring black-ambient ghostly noises of
Abruptum, and you’ve got a ticket on Mord’s terror train. All the songs
are called “Opus”, so details are mostly unnecessary, so let me just
strongly suggest that black metal freaks of all stripes (except for those
melodic-black pussies) to hop on your swiftest infernal steed and head
over to your nearest hellpit to snatch this up. Christianity ain’t gonna
kill itself, ya know. _______________________________________________________ |
