Re-release
of Nachtmystium’s self-titled EP from 2003. It’s prime US black
metal, with some truly chilling guitar tones and a harrowing
blizzard-beast attack that takes big chunks right out of your soul.
Apparently this is the only Nachtmystium release that features vocalist
(well, gutteralist, more like) Zmij, which is too bad, because he’s
amazing. He sounds like he’s vomiting while wearing plastic vampire fangs.
If Sasquatches had bands, he’d make a good singer for one of ‘em. So it’s
got that going for it. It’s also got a Judas Iscariot cover (“Once
Up on a Heaven in Flames”), which is even weirder than their own
shit. A completely unsettling listening experience. I loved it. _______________________________________________________ |
