Much
like Electric Frankenstein, who have never escaped a CD review without the
dreaded AC/DC-slash-Dead Boys comparisons, the equally awesomely named
Motorcity Losers are so much a product of their twin inspirations that
it’s senseless to not mention them. The Losers’ sound has all the speed,
fury and bluster of Motorhead, and all the raw punk energy and simple pop
sensibilities of the Ramones. And that’s really all you need to know,
because they do not deviate from this blueprint, at all. Not that they
need to, or nothin’, it’s just booze-rock, for Chrissakes, so if you want
variety, go buy a cheese sampler. It certainly makes for a very simple
listening experience – push play, drink, fight, fuck, repeat as necessary
– but there’s not a whole lot to actually write about, so I’ll just
mention that they’re from Italy, and that the guitar player is named Borzo.
And if he forgets, he has “Borzo” painted in big letters on his axe.
Oh, and don’t forget the joker. ________________________________________________________ |
