So,
this a limited edition EP (I am unconvinced that you can limit a CD, since
they practically make copies of themselves, like Tribbles), featuring a
new song, (“The Oven’s On”), plus three songs from the last
Velcro Lewis album, Ruin Everything, re-recorded because,
you know, they wanted to get it right this time. Or whatever, I’m not in
Velcro’s head. What I do know is that the shuffling jungle-jangle of “They
Call Me the Tracker” is practically the “Gloria” of our time, and
as such, becomes a wild new beast whenever you take it on. The new tune is
pretty boss, too, a garage-punk slammer with much exuberant bellowing from
Mr. Lewis. This is probably not enough Velcro if you’re really hungry for
prime dirty Chicago rock, but it does make for a nice taster before the
100 Proof Band manages to lift itself off the floor and make another
record. _______________________________________________ |
