A
mini album of songs that have got through the skin and bones of this band
and right to their heart (of bone, natch) and being covered at gigs are
now recorded in tribute in full on Scandinavian granite style, no
brittle-boned babying here, all bull-balled, baboon ass-baring bucking
bronco biker boogie fashion sessions with guest pals like Roger Miret and
Nicke Borg. It could be said it’s truly for the hardcore in all honesty
though - are there that many more people who need turning onto The Ramones
‘I Wanna Be Sedated’? – but riotous gatecrash the party, what party? any
fucking party? versions of ‘Yesterdays Hero’ (which, ignoring that above
sentence I didn’t realise was done by Bay City Rollers. Twat? Me? Aaaah
crucify me.) and ‘Wendy O’ Williams ‘It’s My Life’ plus Social D’s
majestic, regal lost in a motel room country swoon ‘King Of Fools’. Not
elementarily essential but in the ongoing fight against ersatz punk then
this is a necessary salvo. ________________________________________________________ |
