From the same Kentucky-based label that brought us the raucous Yellow Belts CD, “Hate Rock USA” is 10 song, 20 minute blast of tough, howling punk n’ roll moon-madness from the awesomely named All American Werewolves, a trio of rugged belt-buckle punks that have been clawing and scratching their way to the top since 1998. Their sound is pure speedball rock infused with melodies and twisty hooks – think early Misfits and the Candysnatchers - battered all to hell with streetpunk fervor. Tough shit, man. It’s a little hard to really sink yr teeth into the tunes, seeing as they clock in at around 90 seconds a pop, but what I heard while this raced across the room sounded suitably lupine.
