Wow. If you’ve ever wondered why they call Philadelphia “Hostile City”,
just listen to this album. The Bad Vibes have been around for five years
now, and if headstompers like “You’re My Fucking Problem” and “I Smell a
Rat” are any indication, it doesn’t sound like they’ve enjoyed a second of
it. Theoretically, the BV’s are a hardcore punk band, but their guitar
sound is so thick and electric that they end up sounding like a Jeff
Clayton-fronted Black Sabbath, with fangs, playing at 300 miles per hour.
This short but lethal collection of threats and laments clocks in at a
mere 20 minutes, but that’s a mighty long time, when you’re getting socked
in the guts. Pretty brutal.
