If I had to guess, I’d say the awesomely named Lucifer Star Machine
probably spend most of their time summoning dark lords in the back room of
some dusty cowboy saloon while midgets in wrestling masks lick whiskey off
the boots of drunken wenches. Or something equally bizarre, I’m sure. I
mean, it’s quite probable given the punk-infused, psychobilly spasms they
throw at you with Fire in Your Hole, a sound so outrageously evil that
you’d swear these UK punk freaks were actually spawned from like, some
Dutch whorehouse or Texas sanitarium. LSM is all about the fuzz n’ roll,
like the way The Stooges, The Cramps, and Pussy Galore were, all the songs
on Fire in Your Hole a deliciously aggravating pistol whipping with some
Misfits spook and Rock City Crimewave ball-busting thrown in for what I
can only assume is sleazy kicks. Because that’s what circus punk rock
cowboys do, I guess – they grease their hair back, slide on some big
silver rings, write songs about whores and blood and filth, and put a
cigarette out on whatever it is you think your rock n’ roll should sound
like.
