There’s a sticker on the plastic sleeve of this record that reads: “Hey y’all! It’s a white trash doubleheader with…Hank III ‘Ruby Get Back To The Hills’ & Antiseen ‘F.T.K.’” and, man, are they ever not kidding. Picture a dilapidated porch with peeling white paint, a hound dog on the step with his tongue hanging out, and three guys in overalls with maybe 12 teeth among them, one with a washboard, one with a banjo, one with a mason jar of hootch, add some hellbilly cousins yeehawing and dancing around, throwing punches and carving skull tattoos into their arms, and you’ve got the sound of Hank Williams III pretty much summed up. The weird thing, though, is that I liked it.

On the flipside, Antiseen provides a sentimental little number called “Fuck The Kids.” Picture a trailer park on a sweltering summer day, kids in diapers playing with Hot Wheels and empty beer bottles, add a bunch of  guys in wifebeaters, some sitting around in old nylon lawn chairs, some of them beating their wives, others polishing the chrome on their Choppers, and you’ve got this anti-establishment, anti-family values, hell, anti-EVERYTHING song pretty much summed up. The weird thing, though, is that I liked it, too. This record gets my bewilderment rating: G for Go Figure. __________________________________________________
