I’m
really looking forward to the death of the CD, certainly the most artless
media we’ve seen in our lifetime. Vinyl’s coming back, baby, believe it.
People wanna actually own a little piece of the bands they love, and an
easily replicated compact disc just doesn’t hold the same emotional weight
as a chunk of beautiful black wax. This observation has nothing to do with
the actual music here, but I mention it because the “Death Can Wait” split
EP comes in both the digital format and a deluxe double 7” in gatefold
sleeve. I have the former because that’s what TKO sent me, but if I was a
scruffy young punk rocker looking for a triple dose of the tough, catchy,
power-riffing streetcore Complete Control are known for, including a very
’77 riot-starting cover of the Krum Bums’ “Cease Fire”, plus another three
tracks worth of blunt, choppy thrash and venomous spitting from the Krum
Bums (including an equally manic Complete Control cover, natch), then I
would most certainly go for the old school version. And then I’d bang some
chick in a Mohawk while I spun this vicious beast on a beat up ol’
turntable. And it would be awesome. __________________________________________________ |
