A
composite crew of the original District and trash punk’n’rollers The
Revolvers this new set of equally ravenous rum-rummaging glory garglers
again mix kerbside crunching street punk with the sort of guttural glam
that the Backyard Babies’d baulk at sticking up their noses. 2nd
District wouldn’t care, whatever the fuck’s up their nose or in their
bloodstreams they bring it on, bring it back up and beat it back down
again into a bewitching dancefloor, bar-room spinning brawl of
beer-battered boogie. Theatrically camp vocals staggering between Rotten,
Pete Shelley and Feargal Sharkey at closing time in a bar called
‘Centrifrugal Force’ mixed with limp-wristed loucheness with the latent
toughness of a platoon of pissed-up lumberjacks like the Hollywood Brats
with balls made from breeze blocks - they kick ass like uncrowned Kahunas
reclaiming the Krautrock title for the gutter gaunt guitar slingers
swaggering through the swinging parties and stinking stages. ‘Young and
Disorderly’ on the strength of a ‘Promising Romance’ - this is another
one. __________________________________________________ |
