Baby Woodrose sounds like Monster Magnet running through velveteen fields of neon flowers, some of which laugh or scream as they step on them, the whole thing a blissed-out trip of lysergic fuzz-pop n'roll. Amazingly, besides being a hallucinogenic Hawaiian plant, Baby Woodrose is a one freak band, the fizzing brainchild of Lorenzo, the drummer for heavy Danish rockers On Trial. He leaves the desert metal behind on "Blows Your Mind", however, as the Woodrose is less about the riff and the groove as it is about the love and the inward to journey to an especially purple kind of semi-consciousness. It's like Roky Erickson's hazy paisley dreams of peace in Vietnam set to a bathtub acid beat, and it is fully righteous, brothers and sisters. Mission accomplished, Baby Woodrose. Consider my mind blown.
