Bad
Machine - Rip Your Heart |
|
Well, Goddamn. I accurately predicted a few months back, based on Bad Machine's 4 song demo, that these Finnish riff hounds were gonna produce a monster of a debut, and here it is, in all it's star-strangled glory. The Machines of Badness ride a razorbacked monster that's got the highly polished chrome and neon metal flake job of Finn glam forebears Hanoi Rocks and Smack up front to razzle dazzle, and the guts and high velocity engine of mean-assed motorpunk under the hood to go the distance. "Rip Your Heart" pours on catchy hooks and duck-walking riffs and shaker-makers like there's no tomorrow, and there isn't a song on here that isn't a chest-thumping paean to the glory of rock and the miracle of pussy. Whiskey gargling frontman Andy sounds like he was born to talk shit- in a snarly American accent, no less- and he sells these macho tunes with such conviction that I think I might go out and pick a fight with "Sick Sonic and Wild" ringing in my ears. Harder than the Sideburns and with twice the firepower of the Hives, "Rip Your Heart" has all the makings of a very Bad Machine, indeed.
