Metal Blade finally dip their chromed fingers into the muddy, bloody pool of extreme metal and pluck out these SoCal death-grinders. Consisting of several members of The Locust, a famed and fabled sci-fried gorecore band, Cattle Decap are grossed-out vegetarians that go meat crazy on "To Serve Man", offering up steaming helpings of thrashy riffs and Ritalin ripping battery tests over phelgmy razorblade gargle. All the songs involve gutpiles and unnecessary surgery. It's like a medical text written by the Marquis De Sade and performed by disgruntled slaughterhouse employees from Nebraska. There's a few high-pitched Dani Filth-y screeches amidst the sub-sonic growls and the odd copped 80's thrash metal lick swirling in the grue stew of blast beats and triple speed maelstrom, but mostly this is state of the art grinding death metal. I see a sweatpants endorsement in Cattle Decapitation's future. By the way, I think the band only claim to be vegetarians to throw off the scent of guilt. They report in their bio that their original throat man/ guitarist disappeared without a trace, but I'm pretty sure they ate him.
