Rattlesnake motherfuckers from Australia. Oh, they dig the Rose Tattoo, baby, and this demo is prime Aussie fighting music, true to form, and it reminds me of that old Sugartooth video, where everybody in the club is trading punches and ripping phones off the wall as the band plays on, undaunted by the chaos all around them- more soundtrack than antagonist. The riffs are spiraling monoliths of volume and muscle that actually go ahead and steal Sabbath outright here and there, but Cockfight are no stoner rock band, really, just a bunch of beer drinking bad asses from the edge of the world with the same record collections as the rest of us. Only there's spin backwards, I think. At any rate, if this roughly hewn 4 tracker is any indication of things to come, Cockfight Shootout are going to make an Earth cracker of a rock and roll record. Which is pretty much what you'd expect from people that bring guns to a cock fight.
