Flour
City Knuckleheads - Demo |
|
Where the hell is Flour City? Upstate New York. Otherwise known as Rochester. You ever hear how people talk in Rochester? It's like a whole city of people who you owe money to, and you're five days late paying them. So it's no wonder at all that Brendan Hart, the Knucklehead's singer, spits and snarls like a pissed-off street punk, lending a distinctly '77 flavor to FCK's rollicking pogo party anthems. Three high energy blasts here, and although "Saturday Night" is the obvious crowd pleaser here, "Sick of Me" is a tough, bittersweet, pop n' roll sing-along in the Social D vein, and "Sarah's Night Off" is a melodic, Rancid-esque bruiser. Solid debut. Now they've got a reason to get the hell out of Flour City once in awhile.
