Devil Doll's got a side label these days, Dark Reign, for bands that like to kill people. Insense, a gang of screamin' extremin' Oslo motherfuckers, are the latest to join their bloody roster. I'm aware that they probably don't really sound like Pantera or Machine Head, but they're the closest comparisons I can dream up at the moment, as the sheer weight of their combat-ready street metal assault shreds my nerves to smithereens. This is pure hardcore metal that neatly side-steps any death or blackened foolishness, and proceeds straight for the throat. You may well need to be young, fast, and Iranian to truly appreciate the anti-social charms riddling this disc, but there's no doubt that Insense are fully in the red on the "Crush, Kill Destroy" meter.
