A well known name thanks to oft-aired VH1 doc "Porn to Rock", Piss Ant are led by part time fetish model and full time glam punk Josi Kat, and although there's an undeniably sexy slink slithering through "Piss Off", Pissant are hardly a sex toy gimmick band. Taking their cues from early Plasmatics, LA glam metal, and Junk records-style punk and roll, Josi and her piss cats run the gamut of scandal sheet rock, but for all the genre bending going on, Josi's high pitched screech and gutteral snarl lets you know exactly who's raging the stage. I am not at all surprised that a song called "Sexx Junkie" (Sex junkie, sex junkie, sex junkie, whore!") has become their signature song, but personally, I dig the gritty serial killer crawl of "Murder Highway", the cock rock bitch slap of "Turn to Hate", and the GG meets the Crue fuck off anthem, "Hot Pants". The naked movie star up front certainly doesn't hurt Piss Ant's cause, but there's plenty of sweaty black leather underneath the lace.
