Rage
- Unity (SPV) www.spvusa.com |
| You can still find Rage's one US distributed album in the cut-out bins of every record store in America- you know, it's the one with the chick in leather with the spiked border. They were tossed into the mix during metal's golden era in the mid 80's back when even Krokus could push a few records around these parts, but Rage's odd mixture of melodic metal and biker boogie never caught on here. I don't think they really gave a fuck, though, since they've carried on without us all these years. "Unity" find them with only one original member left, but their steadfast adherence to the denim demon chug of old remains. To be quite honest with you, this record smokes. I never thought I'd say that about a goddamn power metal album, but the Priestly riffs bounce off the walls nicely and the bombastic choruses are pretty convincing. No nonsense, heads-down power choogle, with amps on 10 and bullet belts for everybody. Righteous. |
